Tiramisu Recipe with Tennessee Hills' Tiramisu Cream Liqueur
Ingredients:
- 4 large egg yolks
- ½ cup sugar
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1¾ cups very strong coffee
- 3-4 tablespoons Tiramisu Cream Liqueur (or your choice of dark roast liquor)
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 24 ladyfingers
Directions:
Step 1:
In a mixing bowl, combine the egg yolks and ¼ cup sugar. Whisk them together until the volume has tripled, then set aside.
Step 2:
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and remaining ¼ cup sugar until medium peaks form. Add the cream cheese to the whipped cream and continue whipping until the mixture becomes smooth and spreadable.
Step 3:
Gently fold the cream cheese mixture into the egg yolk mixture. Stir carefully until both are fully combined.
Step 4:
In a shallow dish, combine the strong coffee with 3-4 tablespoons of Tiramisu Cream Liqueur (or your favorite dark roast liquor) for a little extra kick.
Step 5:
Dust the bottom of your baking dish with 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder.
Step 6:
Quickly dip each ladyfinger, one at a time, into the coffee mixture and arrange them side by side at the bottom of the dish. Repeat until you’ve created a full layer of soaked ladyfingers.
Step 7:
Spread half of the cream cheese/yolk mixture over the ladyfingers in an even layer. Then, repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and the rest of the cream cheese mixture.
Step 8:
Finish with a light dusting of cocoa powder over the top layer. Cover the dish and let it chill in the refrigerator overnight. This allows the flavors to meld together and the dessert to set perfectly.
Step 9:
